K11 is a shopping mall in Hong Kong located in The Masterpiece, developed by New World Development and completed in December 2009. The building features a 340,000-square-foot, 6-storey shopping centre beneath the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui. New World Development claims that it is "The World's First Art Mall". ==The name of K11 and construction== New World Development Executive Director Cheng Chi-Kong, Adrian says the name of the mall originated during a plane trip from Beijing back to Hong Kong, when he thought about the naming of the mall and his childhood memories. Since childhood, Cheng Chi-Kong, Adrian. had always dreamed of having his own kingdom. Since "K" is the 11th letter of the alphabet, he named the shopping mall "K11". Under The Land Development Corporation (predecessor to The Urban Renewal Authority), Hanoi Road, No. 18 was the 11th item in the Kowloon Area, with the code "K11".
